Floor Marking or foam block to step over and two scarfs
Parkinson's Type:
Overview
Instructions: 1. Start with your legs hip width apart and a scarf in each hand. 2. Take a small step up and over with the right leg. 3. At the same time both arms move out to the side ‘set point’ in a TAHDAH! motion. 4. Hold the position and see if you can stretch your arms back a little further. 5. Return to the ‘set point’, prepare yourself and step back, while bringing your arms back to centre. 6. Stand tall, rest, reflect and repeat
Notes: If you are unsteady, hold on to chair and just do one side at a time. Make sure that you get a good stretch across the front of the chest in hold position. Aim for clean and distinct end points with your arm position. Ensure you step back ‘up and over’ with power too. If you are focusing on Bradykinesia and hand opening, you won’t need the scarfs.
