According to the Australian Guidelines for Physical Activity individuals should participate in resistance training at least twice a week per muscle group.
The power based study included in this presentation suggests that training power twice a week is effective for improve muscle thickness, strength and overall function. However, increasing that to 3 days a week is necessary for improvements in maximal gait (walking) speed.
