Thank you for your talk. When you talk about the smell, are you saying that we emit an odour or are you saying the way we can detect a smell, for example I can bend down and smell a rose?

Thank you you have cast a new light on the years before the diagnosis and explained so much. Thank you for sharing your learned wisdom . (Who knew excessive ear wax was an indicator. ) This was most helpful in understanding the emotional journey.

This was a highly informative presentation on an interesting subject. Question: can anyone smell Parkinson’s or only a select few?

Hello. Glad you liked the talk. Sorry it was not in full presentation mode.
My smell capabilities are Hereditary, My Great Grandmother had it and my Grandmother and also my sisters but none of them did Nursing. As I nursed and acquired these smells I called it my Nursing bag of Smells. We have only found a few people who can do this and having met Neuroscientists at a conference in Tanzania, while identifying other biomarkers for TB, they had a chat with me. It is rare. As you have seen, a Gift and a Curse. I am glad it eased and explained but do be kind to yourselves and take care of yourselves.
The TEDx Talk from Manchester 2023 should be on YouTube soon.

Hi Joy. I’d read your story and shared it with many. However, this presentation took you ability to a new level of frank and helpful disclosure. I’d like to think the talk could be made available for all to share. I’d like to use your test. Is all the same material available on your TED talk? Regards Harley
